Honing Chinese Aged Home held activities on September 1, 2019 celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and raising charity funds. Chinese Ambassador to South Africa H.E. Mr. Lin Songtian attended and delivered a speech. Counsellor and Consul General of Chinese Embassy in South Africa Ms. Ni Lingling, the Acting Consul General of the Chinese Consulate-General in Johannesburg Mr. Qu Boxun, Honorary Chairman of the Honing Chinese Aged Home Pan Guowei, and more than 2,000 people from overseas Chinese representatives, compatriots from across the Taiwan Straits, Chinese companies, Chinese and local African medias attended the event. The Chinese Embassy in South Africa, the Chinese Consulate-General in Johannesburg, the Chinese-funded Enterprise Association, and the local Chinese, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan compatriots and societies have made generous donations to the Honing Chinese Aged Home during the program.

Ambassador Lin said that with the help of Chinese people in South Africa, the aged Chinese people can enjoy life in the Honing Chinese Aged Home. They have shown traditional virtues of the Chinese nation as to respect the elderly and love the old. It is also the Chinese tradition to help each other. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Over the past 70 years, the Communist Party of China has united and led the Chinese people, forging ahead, and acquiring great achievements that are attracting worldwide attention. It is making unremitting efforts to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Now each Chinese around the world are proud to be one of the Chinese nation, and proud of the prosperity of China.

Mr. Pan Guowei presented certificates of appreciation to institutions and individuals who have been enthusiastic in donation on behalf of the Kongning Home for the Elderly. He said that he will continue to unite the overseas Chinese in South Africa and make new contributions to the prosperity of China.
