Consul General Pan Qingjiang Attends Women’s Month Celebratory Event hosted by the Faculty of Humanities in University of Johannesburg

On August 30, Mr. Pan Qingjiang, Consul General of China in Johannesburg, attended the Women’s Month Celebratory Event hosted by the Faculty of Humanities in University of Johannesburg and delivered a keynote speech.

In his speech, Consul General Pan briefed on the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and upcoming Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). He said that under the framework of FOCAC, women from China and Africa have written a splendid chapter of shared progress through solidarity and cooperation. He stressed that both China and South Africa attach great importance to the development of women’s cause and have made remarkable achievements. He expressed that the Consulate General is ready to continue to promote communication between the youth of the two countries, including women, and hopes that the youth will become envoys of China-South Africa friendship and make new contributions to the building of a high-level China-South Africa, China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era.

During the event, Consul General Pan and Prof Kammila Naidoo, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Humanities presented scholarship certificates to two outstanding female students.
