On August 22, 2024, Mr. Pan Qingjiang, Consul General of China in Johannesburg, met with the Speaker of Gauteng Provincial legislature, Morakane Mosupyoe. Mr. PAN briefed on China-South Africa relations, the friendly cooperation between China and Gauteng Province, the upcoming Beijing Summit of the FOCAC, and elaborated the major outcomes of the Third Plenary Session of the CPC 20th Central Committee and its global significance. He said that the Consulate General is ready to strengthen communication with the new provincial legislature, jointly promote pragmatic cooperation in various fields, and contribute more golden achievements to the "golden era" of China-South Africa relations. Mosupyoe said that the provincial legislature has always attached importance to relations with China and is willing to learn from China's governance experience, and expects new results in bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields.
