Between February 26-27, 2024, Consul General Pan Qingjiang attended the Free State Investment Conference. Minister of Electricity, Deputy Minister of DIRCO, Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, the Premier of the Free State Province and several MECs attended the conferences and delivered speeches, introducing South Africa's national investment policy and the advantages of the Free State Province in attracting investment. 

Also attended were the representatives of Chinese institutions in South Africa including China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, China Construction Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, and China State Construction Engineering Corporation, and local Chinese private businesses. They had extensive engagement with the government officials, and local entrepreneurs.
