On March 14,2024, Mr. Pan Qingjiang, Consul General of China in Johannesburg, attended the Global Media Dialogue-South Africa Stop which was hosted by CMG （China Media Group）at the University of Johannesburg.

In his adress, Consul General Pan emphasized that the fundamentals of China’s economic long-term improvement remain unchanged. China proposed at the "Two Sessions" that it will vigorously promote the construction of a modern industrial system, accelerate the development of new quality productive forces, and expand high-level opening up to the outside world. He believes that Chinese path to modernization will certainly provide new opportunities for the development of Africa, including South Africa.

More than 100 delegates from South African media, academia, business, and Chinese community representatives in South Africa attended the dialogue and held lively discussions on topics such as New Quality Productive Forces and Empowering China-Africa Cooperation.
