The Chinese Consulate General in Johannesburg is looking for a media staff and liaison officer to manage office's mediaplatforms, write brief of daily news, and maintain public liaison.

I. Application requirements

(i) Tertiary education or above.

(ii) Proficiency in English, fluent in reading, writing and speaking. Those who have studied or worked in China will be considered first.

(iii) Proficiency in the use of social media in South Africa, basic photography and video production skills.

(iv) Legal residence status.

(v) No criminal record, in good health and free from any other factors that may affect normal work.

(vi) Work carefully, conscientiously, patiently and efficiently.

II. Application Process

(i) Application. Those who meet the application requirements can submit scanned copies of their CVs, recent personal photos (to ensure facial clarity), proof of highest academic qualifications and proof of legal residence to our email address: jhb2525@126.com before 25 June.

The application materials will be used for recruitment purposes only and the contents of the personal information of the candidates will be kept strictly confidential.

(ii) Preliminary examination. Those who pass the preliminary examination will be notified before 1July. Those who do not pass the preliminary examination will not be notified.

(iii) Examination. The examination is divided into an online interview, a written test and a practical assessment. Candidates will be mainly examined for their ability to express themselves in English and the related abilities required for the job.

(iv) Hiring. One person will be selected on the basis of the assessment.

III. Work and Salary

(i) The employeewill work in the office at 25 Cleveland Road, Sandhurst, Joburg, SA. 5 days aweek and enjoy public holidays.

(ii) The probationary period will be 3 months and an employment contract will be signed for those who pass the probation.

(iii) Salary will be negotiable.
