Deputy Consul General Ren Xiaoxia attends seminar on China's economy and opportunities for South Africa

On the 5th of August 2016, Deputy Consul General Ren Xiaoxia attended and addressed the G20 seminar on China’s economy and opportunities for South Africa in Johannesburg, held at the University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business Science.

In the opening remarks, Deputy Consul General Ren outlined Chinese President Xi Jinping’s advice towards an innovative, invigorated, interconnected and inclusive world economy. She pointed out that the seminar is aimed at helping local businesses create a true image of China’s economic transformation and its impact on China-South Africa cooperation, echoing the 2016 G20 Hangzhou Summit.

The speakers include Dr. Gaojian, Chairman of Anglorand Financial Services Group, Mr. Gao Desheng, Vice President of Bank of China Johannesburg Branch and Mr. Matthew Birtch, Lecturer of Gordon Insitute of Business Science. They spoke respectively on the transformation of Chinese economy and its impact abroad, marketization reform of Chinese financial service and RMB internationalization as well as capturing inter-emerging market deal flow between China and sub-Saharan Africa and answered questions raised by the audiences.

The G20 seminar was sponsored by Chinese Consulate General in Johannesburg and organized by the China-Africa Youth Association and the Gordon Institute of Business Science.
