Notice on Removal of Visa Appointment Requirement by the Chinese Consulate in Johannesburg

In order to further improve the efficiency of visa processing and enhance people-to-people exchanges between China and South Africa, as of 20 November 2023, applicants are allowed to submit their visa applications directly to the Chinese Visa Application Service Centers in Johannesburg without appointment during working hours.

To ensure smooth application, please kindly be noted that:

1. Please log into the website of the Chinese Visa Application Service Center(https://www.visaforchina.cn/globle/)and choose the relevant Visa Center, complete the online application form fully and accurately. Then print the whole form in advance of the on-site submission. Applicants are required to leave signatures on the confirmation page and the last page of the application form.

2.  Applicants are also required to submit the application form and the relevant documents to the Visa Center on site. The processing time and visa fees remain unchanged. Meanwhile, applicants can still apply for Express service and pay accordingly.

3. Considering that there might be a large number of applications during peak hours, applicants are advised to make reasonable arrangements and submit the documents off-peak based on the needs. Peak hours are from 10:00 to 13:30 every weekday and around public holidays.
